    Yokikan’s Cable Railway

One of Yokikan’s special features is its cable railway, a real rarity in Japan.
This unique cable railway offers a 30-meter ride that takes you to the open-air bath at the top of the hill at a 45-degree angle.

The Onsen at Yokikan

Yokikan is famous for its open-air bath, which provides a sweeping view of the ocean and the city of Ito.
A cable railway takes you up to the mountaintop hot springs, ascending its 30-meter length at an angle of 45 degrees.
On a clear day, you can see as far as Hatsushima Island and the Boso Peninsula of Chiba Prefecture. At night, the panoramic sky is filled with stars. The temperature of the water is extremely high so it is cooled in a tank before it flows into the spring.

The fresh and 100% natural hot springs produce a steady flow of water from 400 meters underground.

We provide two different types of communal baths:

1.Roten-buro, open-air bath (Chloride salt spring)

  • • This bath’s chloride salt water offers relief for neuralgia, muscle pain, chronic skin disease, chronic female ailments and more.
  • • Located at the top floor (A cable railway is available to take you to the bath. It is closed between 10:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for safety reasons).
  • • There is no washing area at the open-air bath.
  • • The bathing time of the open-air bath will be alternated between Men and Women according to the designated times.

2.Indoor bath (Simple hot spring - Alkaline hot spring)

This bath offers relief for fatigue, neuralgia, cold sensitivity and other ailments. Two separate communal hot tubs are available - one for Men and the other for Women, both located on the lobby floor.
